Chris Adams is an accomplished director, producer, and actor with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of Victoria. He further honed his craft by studying Musical Theatre in New York City at Circle in the Square Theatre School. Currently, Chris serves as the Interim Artistic Director of Royal City Musical Theatre and Co-Artistic Managing Director of Raincity Theatre.

At Raincity Theatre, Chris directed the sold-out production of Jason Robert Brown’s Parade. His staging of Sweeney Todd garnered critical acclaim, winning four Ovation Awards and four Jessie Awards, including a nomination for Chris for Outstanding Direction. His production of Company also earned four Ovation Award nominations, winning one, and received four Jessie Award nominations, with Chris again being nominated for Outstanding Direction. Company claimed three Jessie Awards, including Outstanding Production and Outstanding Ensemble for its 14-member cast.

Chris’s directorial credits span a wide range of productions, including the Vancouver and Toronto runs of The Wizards Brunch, and several youth productions at Kay Meek Youth Conservatory, such as Seussical, The Addams Family, High School Musical, Into the Woods, Mean Girls, and 13: The Musical. He has also directed Rock of Ages for Renegade Productions and a number of classic tales, including King Arthur, Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, and Snow White for Metro Theatre. Notably, Chris directed the Ovation Award-winning 13: The Musical for Bring On Tomorrow Co at the Waterfront Theatre.

With nearly a decade of experience at Lindbjerg Academy, Chris directed 19 musicals during his tenure. As a producer, his work includes collaborations with Royal City Musical Theatre, Align Entertainment, The Snapshots Collective, MascallDance, The Impromptu Cabaret Festival, WRS Productions, Presentation House Theatre, and Bring On Tomorrow Co.
